The first and fourth field contain the Bohemian lion as the modern region contains territory of the historical region.

The second field contains a silver field as a reference to the arms of Liberec, the regional capital. The silver wheel in a blue escutcheon, found in the arms of Liberec, are the arms of the Redern (von Rodern) family.

The third field contains a pile inverted embowed, separated from base as a reference to the Ještěd TV tower, a dominant of the region. The arms were registered on October 8, 2001.
