SALEÓPOLIS

State : São Paulo

Salesopo.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 6, 1974.

The cross evokes Christian faith brought by the Jesuit Priests with the first settlers and the axes represent woodcutting, the first activity performed in the region.

The supporters show the modern (coffee) and the old (tobacco) agricultural products, which gave wealth to the region.

The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the Latin motto SUB CRUCE DOMINI (under the cross of the Lord).
