MORTROUX

Province : Liège
Incorporated into : 1977 Dalhem

Armoiries de Mortroux (Dalhem)

Official blazon

Yan lazuur beladen met het borst beeld van Sinte Lucie van goud.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 24, 1819.

The arms show a torso of St. Lucia, the patron saint of the village. As the council applied for arms, but failed to mention the colours, the Dutch government applied the Dutch national colours to the arms. After the Belgian independence (1830) the colours were not changed.

Literature: Servais, 1955
