Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 29, 1963.
The arms are those of François de Cerf and his wife Christina van Immeloot. The estate of Vlamertinge became a possession of Jean de Cerf in 1605. Pieter Immeloot received in 1638 the estate of Leghere, which was a sub-loan of the Vlamertinge Estate. Both used the title Lord of Vlamertinge. As their children married, the title remained in the family until 1789.
Literature: Servais, 1968
