Depicted is the family coat of arms of the Major General of the Marines titular F.A. van Braam Houckgeest (1837-1922), commander of the Marine Corps in 1881-1892. He distinguished himself during an expedition in Guinea in 1869. During a reorganization, the barracks were abolished as an independent unit, and by order S 10.961 of 27 September 1991, the emblem was transferred to the Marine Operational Units Group.

Gevierendeeld: I en IV van sabel, met in een schildhoofd van zilver een ten halve uitkomende leeuw van keel, getongd en genageld van azuur; II en III in goud een dwarsbalk van keel, beladen met een lelie van zilver en vergezeld van 3 ruiten van keel, geplaatst 2:1. Als embleemspreuk 'sans reproche' (zonder blaam) in Latijnse letters van sabel op een lint van zilver.

Origin/meaning

Depicted is the family coat of arms of the Major General of the Marines titular F.A. van Braam Houckgeest (1837-1922), commander of the Marine Corps in 1881-1892.
