WALLERSDORF
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Dingolfing-Landau (until 1973 Landau an der Isar)
Additions : 1972 Haidenkofen, Haidlfing; 1978 Altenbuch
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 16, 1954 and continued on September 8, 1972.
The arms show an oak leaf taken from the arms of the family zu Walchenstorff and the arms of the Lords of Riccabona auf Reichenfels. The family zu Walchenstorff are the oldest noble family in the village. The oak leaf is taken from the arms as shown on seals of members of the family dating from 1387 and 1393. The other part is a reminder of Karl-Josef Bishop of Passau, who was a local priest for 30 years before he became a bishop in 1826. As a priest and as a bishop he donated many gifts to the town, for which he is still rememberd.
