Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 21, 1995.

The Cross of Malta refers to the Order of Malta, who played a role in the local development. The palm leaf refers to St. Faustino, the local patron saint. The corn and wheat refer to the fertile soil and agricultural character of the parish. The wavy base symbolises the Leça river.
