Portuguese | Escudo de ouro, um castelo de vermelho, aberto e iluminado de prata, acompanhado de dois pinheiros de verde, frutados de ouro e sustidos de negro, tudo saínte de um terrado de verde realçado de negro. Os pinheiros rematados cada um por um corvo de negro, voltados para o centro. A torre central acompanhada em chefe de duas estrelas de oito raios de vermelho. Em contra-chefe, três faixetas ondadas de prata e azul. Coroa de mural de prata de cinco torres. Listel branco com os dizeres : " CIDADE DE LEIRIA ", a negro. |

The arms were officially granted on August 11, 1987.
The arms show the local castle above the Rio Lis river. The two crows are derived from a local legend, in which two crows helped the Portuguese Kings to conquer the city from the Moors. The meaning of the stars I don't know.
