Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 16, 1980.
The arms show in the first quarter the arms of the De Montpellier family. The second quarter shows the arms of the De Propper family, the third the arms of the d'Aix family and the fourth the arms of the De Moreau family. All played a major role in the history of (parts) of the municipality. Behind the shield are two crossed crosiers, the symbols of an Abbott, as the villages Maredret and Sosoye in the municipality historically belonged to the Brogne Abbey.
