QUAREGNON

Province : Hainaut
Additions : 1977 Wasmuel

Armoiries de Quaregnon

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 26, 1981.

The arms show two shields, each symbolising the history of one of the villages in the municipality. The shield with the four lions represents Quaregnon, which was a possession of the Counts of Hainaut. The arms thus are those of Hainaut.
The other shield represents Wasmuel and shows the arms of the Sainte-Waudru chapter of the benedictan abbey of Saint-Ghislain, to whom the largest part of the village historically belonged.
