NAZARETH
Province : Oost-Vlaanderen
Additions: 1977 Eke
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 22, 1925 and again on May 23, 1978.
The arms combine the arms of two families. The Estate of Nazareth became in the mid 17th century a possession of Lodewijk de Rockolfing, whose descendants owned the estate until the late 18th century and thus were the last owners. The other half shows the arms of Pieter Kervyn de Volkaersbeke, mayor of Nazareth and owner of the local castle, in the second half of the 19th century. He was important for the development of the village.
