DOBROMIERZ
Province: Dolny Śląsk
County: Świdnica
Polish | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms of the city show a kind of arrow and two letters W. The arrow is described as a Armbrustbolzen (a German word, I have no idea about an English translation) and is supposedly a canting element. The town got city rights in 1409 from King Wenzel, which explains the W. The city at the time was ruled by Zanker von Grunau, whose nickname supposedly was 'Bolze'.
