Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 3, 1924 and again on March 1, 1993.
The arms show the arms of the Kieffelt family, Lords of Kraainem from 1624 until the 18th century. The seal of the local council, dating from 1696, showed the arms and thus the council applied for these arms in 1923.
