Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 16, 1981.

The star represents the bright future that Henrique Dumont brought upon the village. His son Alberto Santos-Dumont, was one of the first pilots in the world and flew for the first time in Paris in 1906, hence the two wings in the arms.

The shield is flanked by coffee and sugar cane, the main crops in the region.

Literature: Image and background provided by Lauro Ribeiro Escobar, São Paulo.
