In lazuur een Sint-Brigida van Kildare, staande op een grond, vergezeld rechts van een koe en links van een boom, alles van goud.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 14, 1988.
The arms show St. Brigid, the historical patron saint of the village of Wellen. When the local council applied for the arms, the catholic party objected against the use of the patron saint ! The reason for this was that it was proposed by a liberal mayor...
