Origin/meaning

The arms were granted to the city on October 10, 1924.

The arms refer to the viticulture near the town, but the actual symbolism of two men carrying grapes is taken from the Bible (Numeri 13,23), in which this scene is described.

I have no information on the meaning of the eagle (Austria/Niederösterreich) or colours.
