Province : Antwerpen
Incorporated into : 1977 Kasterlee
Official blazon
- (1819) Van lazuur, beladen met Ste Margeriet van goud.
- (1839) Een blauw veld met het gulden beeld van Sinte-Margareta.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 6, 1819 and confirmed on March 29, 1839.
The arms show St. Margaret killing the dragon. She is the patron saint of Tielen since the 15th century.
The colours are the Dutch national colours, as in 1813 the municipality did not mention any colours when applying for the arms. After the Belgian the arms were confirmed, but the colours were not changed.
