Gespalten von Grün und Rot; vorne ein silberner Quaderturm, hinten übereinander acht schräglinks mit der Spitze nach abwärts gelegte blanke Schwerter.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted March 27, 1837 by King Ludwig I.

The arms are based on the battle in the town in 1462. The city of Augsburg ruled the town, which was attacked by Duke Ludwig of Niederbayern-Landshut. The local tower (according to legend built by the Romans) was defended by only eight warriors, which is symbolised by the eight swords.
