Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 11, 1997.

The Maltese Cross in the upper part symbolises the fact that the village was a longtime possession of the Order of St. John of Malta.
The two corn cobs symbolise the importance of the local agriculture.

The bases shows the Lake Pateira, an important tourist attraction in the municipality.
