Official blazon
Portuguese Escudo de prata, com um barco antigo de negro, realçado de ouro, mastreado e encordoado de negro, vestido de uma vela de púrpura, vogando num mar de seis faixas ondada de, três de verde e três de prata. Em chefe três vieiras de púrpura, realçadas de ouro. Coroa mural de cinco torres de prata. Listel branco com a legenda de negro " CIDADE DE ÍLHAVO ".
