Portuguese Armas:

• Escudo de oiro, um leão de negro, animado, lampassado e armado de vermelho; franco-cantão de vermelho com uma flor de lis de prata; • Elmo militar de prata, forrado de vermelho, a três quartos para a dextra; • Correia de vermelho perfilada de oiro; • Timbre: dois canhões passados em aspa, sustendo um castelo, tudo de prata; • Condecorações: circundando o escudo, o Colar de Oficial da Ordem de Torre e Espada, do Valor, Lealdade e Mérito; • Divisa: Num listel de branco, ondulado, sotoposto ao escudo, em letras de negro, maiúsculas, de estilo elzevir «FORTES E LEAIS».

Origin/meaning

The Lion is from the arms of Flanders, indicating service there during World War I. The Fleur-de-lis is from the arms of the City of Leiria, where the Regiment is based. The Crest symbolises the predescessor the Howitzer Regiment.
