Incorporated into : 1977 Leuven
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 7, 1928.
The arms are those of the Vlierbeek Abbey, and show St. Mary and child, the patron saint of the abbey. The villages of Kessel and Lo belonged historically to the abbey, which was founded in 1125. The abbey church was also the church for the villages until 1803.
