Origin/meaning :
The oldest known seal of the town shows a shield with the initials ST, a star and the deer antler from Württemberg, and dates from the early 18th century. The use of the letters and the deer antler is known since the late 17th century, when the combination was used on border stones.
Another 18th century seal showed four stars and the antler, but no longer the letters.

The present arms were adopted in 1900 and are derived from the arms of the former local Lords of Stetten.
