Escudo de verde, com uma ponte de um arco abatido de prata, lavrada de negro, movente dos flancos e de campanha diminuta ondada de prata e azul de três tiras, a de azul carregada com uma truta de prata, animada de vermelho; em chefe dois feixes de três espigas de trigo de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: «VÁRZEA - AMARANTE».
