State : São Paulo

Santopol.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 17, 1995.

The rose symbolises the beauty of the region, nice climate and pure waters. The axes symbolise the first activity of the settlers: wood cutting; the wavy bar represents the Aguapei river which flows near the city and the fleur de lys are the attribute of the Blessed Virgin, patron saint of the city.

The supporters show that cotton and sugar cane are important agricultural products of the region.

The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
