Origin/meaning

The old arms for Kallstadt were granted on January 15, 1845 (above left), the new on June 22, 1962.

The oldest known seal of the village is known from 1494 and shows a divided shield of Pfalz-Bayern (lion and diamonds) and in the base a small letter K. When in 1506 the area became part of the Leiningen County, the seals showed the eagle of Leiningen above a wall. Seals with this composition were used until 1711, when a seal with the orb appeared. The orb was a symbol of the Counts of the Pfalz, and may thus originate from before 1506. In 1845 the orb was granted as arms, whereas in 1962 the two seals were combined.
