Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the oldest seal of the city, known since 1350. The arms most likely show Emperor Heinrich II, as the founder of the State of Bamberg, to which Hollfeld belonged. The image of the emperor was placed in a shield in the 18th century, the colours are known since 1803. In the 19th century finally the arms were changed, with the figure riding to the right and not to the left. The arms haven't changed since.
