Origin/meaning

The upper part shows the wheel of the State of Mainz, to which Worbis belonged from the 16^th century 1806. The lower part shows the arms of the Counts of Beichlingen, who uled the city in the 13^th century. When the city rights were renewed in 1682 the wheel of Mainz was added to the older arms.
