Origin/meaning
The arms of Amt Weidenau were granted on August 17, 1937.
The arms show in the base three linden trees, derived from the old seal of the local court, which covererd basically the same area as the Amt. The lion in the upper part of the new arms is the lion of Nassau, as the area belonged to the County Nassau-Siegen. The lion of Nassau is also part of all the Ämter is the (former) district Siegen.
