Province : Hainaut
Incorporated into : 1977 Ath
Official blazon
Bandé d'or et d'azur à l'ombre de lion brochant sur le tout et à la bordure engrelée de gueules.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 21, 1923.
The arms are identical to the arms of the Trazegnies family (see also Trazegnies and Silly), who for a long time possessed the village and estate of Irchonwelz, from 1582-1793. The arms already appear on the seal of the local council in the late 16th century.
