Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 16, 1993.
The cross evokes the first chapel built in the village, the roses represent the beauty of the region and good climate while the chief alludes to the division of the lands into small properties which contributed to the fast development of the region.
The supporters show that sugar cane and cotton are important agricultural products of the region and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
