Portuguese Escudo de vermelho, rosa heráldica de ouro, botoada de azul, apontada e folhada de prata e, em contra-chefe, uma bilha de prata, tudo entre duas palas diminutas e endentadas de prata, volvidas para os flancos. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ GANÇARIA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 7, 2001.

The rose is the symbol of Our Lady of Health, the local patron saint. The pitcher symbolises the importance of the local potteries and ceramic industries. The sawblades symbolise the local woodworking crafts and industries.
