Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 28, 1877 and again on July 20, 1989.
The village developed around an army camp founded in 1835 by King Leopold I. In 1848 the cam was abolished and the military settled in the village, which became a separate municipality in 1850.
The arms show the Belgian flag with two swords as a reminder of the army base. The chief shows the monogramme of King Leopold I.
