Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 1, 2009
The four swans refer to the rich nature in the municipality, as well as to the four old municipalities heading for a common future. The base refers to the many lakes and waterways in the municipalities. The colours are those of the historical region of Ostrobothnia.
