Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 16, 1842.

The arms are based on the arms used by the Lords of Varsenare as shown in a roll of arms from 1557. Also in the 17th century these arms were mentioned as those of the Lords and Estate of Varsenare, and thus were adopted by the village in 1842.
