English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 12, 1936.
The arms are based on the seal of the local fisherman's guild from 1425. This seal shows a fishing vessel with on the mast a small shield with a porpoise with two spears. The motto was 'Med tarpoen zonder pardoen' (with a harpoon and no remorse).
