Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 24, 1981.

The six oak leaves symbolise the six former municipalities as well as the local Bundorfer Forest. The checquered bar is taken from the arms of the Truchsess von Wetzhausen family, who played a major role in th elocal history and who own the local estate and castle since 1343.

The wavy bar symbolises the Baunach river in the municipality.
