Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 8, 2001.
The sword and the cut cloak refer to Saint Martin of Tours, the local patron saint. The two railway profiles symbolise the importance of the railway for the development of the town. The wheat ears to the (former) importance of agriculture. The base shows the Ferreira river.
