Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 4, 1818.

The arms show agricultural tools to indicate the agricultural character of the village. As the mayor did not mention any colours at the time of the application, the arms were granted in the Dutch national colours of blue and gold. This was not changed after the Belgian independence.
