Origin/meaning
The arms were first granted on January 8, 1913.
The arms show the holy pope Sixtus II, patron saint of the local convent and parish. The arms were slightly simplified and again granted on October 6, 1926. In 1936 the new government wanted to change the arms, as saints were politically incorrect, but this never happened.
