Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 31, 1961.
The arms are based on the old seal of the jurisdiction of the area around Herve (Ban de Herve). This area included Battice. The four saints are St. John Baptist (for Herve), St. Sebastian (for Charneux), St. Anthony (for Thimister) and St. Gilles (for Chaineux).
The hearts also show the combination of the four towns in the area. In 1958 the local council applied for arms based on the arms of the De Batisse family, but as no relation could be found between the family and the village, it was decided by the Heraldic Council to use the old regional seal as arms for Battice.
