Arms of Ořechov (Brno-venkov)

Official blazon

V červeném štítě ve stříbrném klínu listnatý strom (ořešák) přirozené barvy na zeleném návrší. Klín provázejí vinařský nůž - kosíř a radlice, obojí vztyčené, přivrácené a stříbrné.

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered on October 9, 2007.

The arms show a walnut tree (which is a canting element, Ořech=(wal)nut), which was already used on the oldest known seal of the village Velký Ořechov from 1740. The grape knife is a symbol for the village of Ořechovičky and the plough for the village of Tikovice. Both symbolise the agricultural character of the villages and were used on the old village seals.
