Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 16, 1995.
The silver dove symbolises the Holy Spirit, the patron of the local church. The chequered bend is taken from the arms of the Cistercian Order, as the monks played a major role in the draining and development of the marshlands in the region.
The heraldic fountains indicate the many sources of water in the municipality.
