Arms (crest) of Hirtshals

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered in 1964.

The arms show a ship's rudder, symbol for the large fishing harbour in the municipality. The three small hooks symbolise the three former municipalities that merged in 1964. The star is the symbol of navigation for the fishermen of the municipality.
