Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1907.

The arms are a combination of elements from the old seals of Stadtsulza and Dorfsulza. The patron saint of Stadtsulza is the Saint Mauritius, which can be seen in the right part of the arms. The oldest known seal of Stadtsulza, dating from 1567, already shows the patron saint.

The linden tree has been used in the village of Dorfsulza since the early 19th century.

Seal from around 1900

The arms in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
