MEHREN (WESTERWALD)

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Altenkirchen
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld (until 2020 Verbandsgemeinde Altenkirchen (Westerwald))

Wappen von Mehren (Westerwald)/Arms (crest) of Mehren (Westerwald)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 21, 1992.

The church is the local church and refers to the village itself and the Mehren parish which covers the Merbachtal valley. The colours refer to forest, agriculture and the blue to the Mehrbach river.

The jug is typical for the pottery in the village and is marked with GR under a crown. This refers to the English King George II, as the factory produced pottery for the English King.

The other symbol is taken from an old grave, which probably belongs to Johann von Mehren.
