Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 26, 1822 and again on June 30, 1838 and on September 5, 1978.

Beaumont already had a castle in the 11th century and in 1246 received city rights. At the same time a seal was made showing a fortified castle. The arms were based on the seal and have been used since the 15th century. The arms were first granted in 1822 and have not changed since, even though the blazoning has become more detailed after the mergers in 1977.
