Kultaisen latinalaisen ristin jakamassa sinisessä kilvessä neljä kultaista minuskeli r-kirjainta, yksi kussakin neljässä kentässä.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 11, 1942.

The arms show a cross and the letter R. These arms are derived from the seal of the town from 1490. The cross refers to the Holy Cross Church, the main church in the town at the time.

In the middle of the 19th century B. Kene designed arms for the town in gold and black colours, with the provincial arms in the upper right corner. he made a number of other designs, in different colours and letters, but in the end the Russian Imperial colours were chosed.

The present blue and golden colours appear in the 19th century. First again with the letters RAVM, later with the historical letter R. These were also granted in 1942.
