Origin/meaning

The Spade symbolises the Work of Sappers. The Axes symbolises overcoming of difficulties. The Bugle Horns alludes to the former Railway Sappers, whose traditions was inherited by the Regiment. The Saltire in the Crest alludes to Lisbon, home of the Regiment. The Castle symbolise the Engineers.
