AMT BORK
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Lüdinghausen
Incorporated into : 1975 : Lünen, Selm
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 29, 1956.
The arms show a red bar, the arms of the State of Münster, but the bar was officially derived from the (alleged) arms of the Counts of Cappenberg, as the area was part of the historical County Cappenberg. The roses are derived from the arms of the Lords of Stein, who, in the 19th century, often resided at the Cappenberg castle.
To the Amt belonged:
- Altlunen
- Bork
- Selm
